Stone Rice Field Tourism in Bukateja Village, Balapulang Subdistrict, adds to the list of new destinations in Tegal Regency. This destination has the attraction of panoramic rice fields with a beautiful hilly background.
Not only offering natural scenery, Sawah Batu also has artificial recreational facilities.
There is a hall or meeting place, a culinary tour that provides typical village snacks, and two children's swimming pools, each with a depth of one meter and 50 centimeters. Sawah Batu is crowded on Saturdays and Sundays.
Visitors can enjoy Bukateja's culinary specialties. There are corn rice, walang rice, jintul, and many others.
Bukateja village has a vast area of rice fields, with a total area of almost 83 hectares. More than 500 Bukateja villagers make their living in agriculture, indicating that rice fields are one of the main sources of livelihood for this village of 872 families.
Since Bukateja Village is one of the farthest ends of the geological rock distribution from the volcanic activity of Mount Slamet, it is not surprising that the rocks of this volcanic remnant are widely spread throughout the village area, both on the ground surface and under the soil layer, including in the rice fields. The name Sawah Batu Tourism is indeed taken according to the potential of the village which has many stones, especially in the rice fields.
